Wimborne Minster is the market town on Forest View Retreat's doorstep, and for most stays it becomes the default run for coffee, groceries and an easy evening out.
The Minster
The twin-towered Minster church sits at the heart of the town and is free to visit. It is an easy, unhurried hour and a good first stop for getting your bearings.
Market and independent shops
Wimborne has a long-standing market and a high street built around independent shops, delis and cafés rather than chains — useful for stocking the kitchen for a self-catering week.
Eating and drinking
There is a good spread of pubs, cafés and independent restaurants within a few minutes' drive of the house, which makes Wimborne the simplest option on an arrival night when nobody wants to cook.
Walks and green space
The River Stour runs through the town, and Cannon Hill Forest is beside the property — so you can set out on woodland walks from the doorstep without driving anywhere at all.
